Just another normal morning. Got to work and decided to check my Facebook. I was shocked to see that the new Dream Theater album Black Clouds & Silver Linings has debuted at #6 on the Billboard Top 200. It was very weird checking Billboard site and seeing DT listed just below Eminem.
Having grown up in the 80's and found love for music just before the days of MTV, I came to appreciate not only if a song sounded good to the ear, but the skills it to in creating the song. Dream Theater covers all of that in my book. Everyone has their own opinions, but they have been a huge influence on me as the years have gone by.
I have grown to like all types of music and think there are a lot of really great bands out there today..on the modern scene. However, to see a band like DT getting more popular and gaining fans after 25 years is pretty amazing.
Ok..done with the first post. Hopefully many more rantings to come!
